International Cup

For Henry's birthday we got him tickets and a hotel room (with parents) to the International Cup in Eugene featuring PSG and FC internalzionale. He chose two friends...but then one couldn't come....so Frances was the 2nd pick. They stayed in our favorite hotel....which is apparently where Milan was staying...so they ripped off their PSG jerseys on first sighting...so funny. Mark got to take them and they had so much fun!

Meanwhile, I was left with just one kid. SO WEIRD. So Maggie and I chose to do her favorite things.... play with Oskie, bike ride, and get nails done. good thing Maggie's favorite things are things I love too as it made missing out on Eugene so much easier.

Maggie's First "Real" Concert

Every year we go to a concert at Edgefield. The setting is stunning, we try and squeeze in a round of golf on the very short- 3 par course, the beer is super nummy, and it is child friendly. This year we got 4 tickets to the Avett Brothers thinking we would take the older kids. Maggie declared she was old enough...and ready. Frances thankfully negotiated. It was so much fun. Mark and Henry golfed and Maggie and I explored the wonderful setting at Edgefield. It was a fantastic first concert. There was no opening band, Avett Brothers started right on time and then played an amazing concert for 2.5 hours. Bliss.

Camp Out at Our Golf Club

Our golf club at a "family" camp out on the golf course. Mark and I debated for a while and then finally decided to go for it. SO FUN!

They had:
1) Games for the kids to play
2) Stocked the pond with fish for fishing
3) Smores at night with two fire pits
4) Outdoor movie
5) BBQ dinner
6) beverages...like margaritas and wine for parents
7) A bathroom...a real one....
8) Warm breakfast the next morning

We had a blast. It was particularly cute as many kids were there with their grandparents, who are the members.

The only hiccup was that Frances, who got her stitches out that am, stepped on a hornets nest while fishing and looking for golf balls in the water and she got stung 12 times. OUCH. Sweet Mark, who was with her when she got attacked, got stung six times trying to get the bees off her.

Thankfully that girl is tough as nails and she managed to recover before bedtime.

Definitely a new annual tradition....the fake camping on a golf course...not the bee stings....

Tram with the Cousins

My sister and the kids are in town and we were brainstorming on fun things to do with the kids. My dad had the great idea of riding the tram up to OHSU and walking around and showing the kids the place where their parents (Jenny and Fritz) met. It was so much fun.

Red Tail Golf Camp with the Boys

Henry had another great golf camp at Red Tail with the boys. Amazing to think it is has been over 6 years. This year was extra special for him as he won the 54 Award (if one got a birdie on every hole) for being the MVP. He was very excited about how this was adding to his summer "hardware" collection. Oh dear.... Maggie insisted on going as "Ana" for the golf awards ceremony. Oh dear...

Once in a lifetime Timber experience

My parents bought a "VIP Experience" at Timbers game at an auction and gave it to our Timber loving family.  Given we have season tickets, I didn't think it would be that different. WRONG. We had early access to go down, right next to the field, and have free appetizers and drinks. Players families were down there and we got to see them warm up- up close. I was a totally embarrassment -SO EXCITED. Then our seats were in the front row, center field. WOW. Such a different angle and so much fun. Frances's favorite part MAY have been the free voodoo donuts at the 85th minute of the game. Too funny.
