Hood River

Jenny and Fritz bought a place in Hood River and since that is one of our favorite places on earth...we decided to go and check it out. AWESOME. The weather was perfect, you could see all the mountains, and we discovered some great playgrounds....and an INSANELY good ice cream place. Francie had her first taste and was thereafter attacking anyone with a cone in hand. Just like her mother.

Memorial Day with the Cousins

We spent Memorial Day with our cousins from Alaska. As Henry says "PARTY!". Francie went to the pool for the first time. She LOVES being around all the big kids. Her favorite part was eating lunch at the "kids table". It was hysterical, she was trying so hard to keep up with the conversation.

Hike to Lilly

Today was magnificent. I dropped Henry off at school and then went for a run in Washington Park (bliss!) with Francie. I then made it back in time to go on a hike with Henry's class. We hiked to a beautiful maple tree that they have affectionately named Lilly. It was so fun to be with all the kids. I seriously need to win the lottery and then consider working weekly in the classroom.

Water Heaven and Aunt Kathy

This weekend was great. Aunt Kathy came to town and was Miss Wonder Woman. She helped Gordon find a place and helped to iron out many of the logisitics of his move....AMAZING. She also played with the kids and they adored her. Since it was really warm, we got to take Francie to our favorite park with water for the first time. As you can tell, she REALLY, REALLY liked it.

Miss Francie turned 11 months. Holy cow....one month and she is one. WHAT?

She looks a tad different than Henry.

No stopping her now.....

Although she has only been walking since Sunday, Francie is hooked. She is now walking EVERYWHERE. She figured out that if she goes in a circle, she can stay up for longer. Last night she walked around the island in the kitchen four times while I cooked dinner. Below is an updated video of her walking, minus hitting her head at the end. Much easier to stomach. She is a pistol.....in a good way.

Big Steps

Not to be outdone by her brother's recent "firsts", Miss Francie has decided to walk. She has been doing a lot of cruising and casual walks - 1 or 2 steps - between furniture. However, this morning something clicked. I was in Baltimore Friday-Saturday and was so excited to wake up and hang with the kids this morning. While we were playing - as if she had been doing it all along - she walked 7 steps to me. I nearly died. Thank god she waited "to do" such a first when I was back in town. She is very proud of herself (as are we!!)...but she also has already hit her head (as you see at the end of the video....TORTURE) many times and I see many a bruised eye in our future. Would it be too much to make her wear a helmet?
