Waverly Junior Golf Championship

Henry has been somewhat obsessed with golf this summer....as in he has LIVED on the golf course playing with either my dad, Mark's dad, Mark, or asked to be dropped off by himself in the morning and picked up in the afternoon.

So, he was VERY excited about the Jr Golf Championship as he now has his eyes on playing high school golf and knows he needs to get used to competitions.

Frances didn't want to play. She worried she would suck. She worried the people would be too serious. They called us on Saturday to say no girls were willing to play in her age group, so would Frances be willing to play with a 13 and 12 year old. Thankfully, we knew the 13 year old - she is the older sister of one of Francie's dear friends and is a great kid that she has played with in Manzanita. So, she will to go.

Well, both had SO much fun and such a great experience with their groups...and they happened to win.

Two Days with Annemarie and Kids = SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!!

About a month ago my dear friend Annemarie announced she and her four kids were coming to Oregon. ELATED. Then, I realized we would be in Bend and the coast for part of the time she was in Portland.  Then she came up with the BRILLIANT idea to come to the beach. It was so much fun. We had seven kids in one house and my kids loved being the older kids....usually they are younger with the cousins. Each of her kids are so precious, funny and it was just the best to see her and hang out and get to know her amazing little tribe. We even got to tell Henry a few stories of us "back in the day"....which made him crack up.

Newport Vacation with Mama

We were going to stay in bend, but then when it fell through (and thank god, as the smoke was so bad, we had to leave) I decided to take the route to the coast through Newport and make a pit stop. The kids have always wanted to see the Aquarium and we never really go anywhere on the coast except for Manzanita.I got a hotel on the beach and it was so fun. We played, swam in the pool and then they had a free movie selection. They had Overboard, a movie my brother and I LOVED and watched many times, so I worked and half watched with the kids and giggled along with them while my brother watched from heaven.

Bend Soccer Tournament

One of favorite soccer tournaments of the summer is the one in Bend that both Henry and Frances play in. The setting is amazing, Henry's team all stays in the same place, we are near the river, they have the best food, and there is good beer. We had an amazing time as usual. Both kids played well and had a ton of fun. Maggie made a new cheer routine and incorporated the older sisters of two of Frances's teammates. Frances's team won and played outstanding. The best was after the last game we floated down the river and through the rapids. SO. FUN.

Thorns Appreciation Night

We had a fun thorns appreciation night. This year they had a bunch of stations where you could play corn horn with players, get pictures, get autographs, do a maze with a soccer ball. One my favorite parts was Maggie doing gymnastics while I waited in line. That girl can make friends and entertain herself anywhere. Frances's highlight was getting a pic with some of her favorite players on the team.

Tourney Champs Again

Frances's team is having a pretty great run this summer. They won the Salmon Creek Nike Cup this weekend. I am so proud of her and how she played. All GRIT. Maggie performed and made new friends...and hair styles on the sideline.

Last weekend, Henry's team also won their tournament. he played so smart and is such an amazing passer and he some pretty great goals too.
