Zoo and Golfing...not Together

Henry is currently obsessed with golfing. So two days, Mark and Henry went golfing while the girls and I played.

One day we went to the Zoo. A-MAZ-ING. The animals were incredible and the girls had such stamina -- we walked the entire thing!!!!!!!!!!! They LOVED the gondola...which when we took henry has a kid he was so scared that he almost puked. So different than the last time we were there with strollers, snacks, and naptimes to consider.

Pacific Beach

After a fun day of swimming in the pool and watching basketball, we decided to take the kids to the Pacific beach boardwalk for sunset and the dinner. We though it would be a fun thing on a Sunday night.

HOLY MOLY.

My version of a Sunday Funday is games, ccd, grocery shopping, and usually working at night.

Apparently some people do a different Sunday Funday that starts with Bloody Mary's at brunch.

HOLY DRUNK people.

Thankfully, the kids were focused on the  beach and the family game of beach volleyball....which we are all really, really bad at.

We decided to vacate drunk-land and go to Old Town for Mexican food.

Henry ate his first taco.

It was a big deal.

Cowles Mountain

We were lucky enough to head back to San Diego for Spring Break. The first day was a Saturday...with March Madness games...so Mark did a great job and picked out a cool hike we could do in the am before the games. We did Cowles Mountain, the highest peak in San Diego County. There was SOME whining....but it was worth it....even the carrying the 70 lb Maggie up the last part that was very steep.

Best Reset

I had a VERY rough day at work and came home a bit defeated and beating myself up......

And then I unpacked Maggie's backpack.

Immediate Reset.

St Patty's Blazer Game

We had one of those interesting and fun...and kind of so our life Saturdays where I left the house at 7:45 am and wasn't really home until 10PM. Two soccer games, basketball game, basketball party...and then Blazer game!! Frances and Mark went to the thorns games. Henry's friend Jack was staying over, so I bought two tickets for me and Maggie and gave the boys my parents tickets. So fun...but mental note.....don't take a 6 year old to a nighttime game on St Pattys and sit in the 300 section. HOLY WASTED people. The man next to use passed out on his girlfriend and when I saw body movement indicating future puking...we bolted. That said, it was a fun night and great to see the Blazers win 12 in a row and the sparkle in my kids eyes.Thank god for innocence.

Cousin Fest

Christian and Brian came out for the Golden State Warriors Game (Christian is a fan....Blazers won...just saying....) and Jenny had a layover in Portland en route to San Diego. So, we had a four hour cousinfest at a brewery near the airport. Pretty awesome.

Spring Runs = Bliss

We have had some FANTASTIC Spring days lately, which have afforded me the bliss of running in Oregon Spring weather. Impossible to be in a bad mood....for me...and for Cormac. The Thorns also had their first preseason game....which means......MLS and NWSL are coming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No Basketball = SKIING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The tough thing about being a basketball season nowadays is that you usually have tournaments every weekend and can't ski. With Frances's season ending early....she got to ski! We wanted to make a weekend of it, but I had a lot work....solution.....get a ride up there. It was awesome. I got to work on the way up, avoid driving in traffic and parking, and then I got a whole day with girl, and could work on the way home Win. Win.

Frances Basketball Season 2018

Frances had another great basketball season. Despite being small in numbers, they were mighty in heart and had a great coach. It was also fun to see her as such a leader, despite being the youngest girl on the team.
