BEACH - Week 1 of COVID 19 Quarantine

The first week we went to the beach. My parents were not there and we weren't sure if Gordon would need to be at our house when he was discharged from the hospital and we wanted to allow him to be quarantined from the kids. So, for the first time ever, it was me and the kids solo at the beach for a week, until Mark came on the weekend. Mac was confused -- we swore he was nervous Mark and I were getting a divorce. I have to say, I will cherish the memories for the rest of my life. We were fresh in quarantine and still with reserve. The weather was AMAZING and the kids were so flexible with my work schedule and they had no online learning. Our fortune and luck was so clear and I will cherish that week with the kids forever.

One of the few activities that has remained open is Golf. Thankfully, we are very fortunate enough to have our health and to have the opportunity to get to golf. All the kids...even me...have taken advantage of the opportunity. We even have had time to see my dad -- who we are only seeing ta socially distanced events. We feel very thankful for the nice weather and very thankful for the opportunity to access our club in Portland.

Mark's Bday

Mark's Bday was officially the start of our privilege and very fortunate experience of being able to shelter in place as we combat COVID-19. It was a surreal experience - -it snowed! Mark and I were supposed to go out to dinner ... but poor Gordon was in the hospital and we didn't feel like we should go the restaurant we had made reservations too. So....we went for a magical hike in this wonderful place we live in, bought a gift certificate the the restaurant we would have gone to, made Mark's preferred dinner at home, and started our quarantine life.

F Basketball 2020

Frances's basketball season has been good and interesting and hard and worthwhile. She is on a team with some eight graders, a lot of seventh graders and her. Her coach played professional in Europe for over a decade and is AMAZING.  He also has three kids that Frances is obsessed with. She has grown as a point guard, passer...and interestingly....switch to her left hand for shooting. I think it is all the focus on her left foot in soccer. This past weekend, she scored half her points with her left and half with her right. She shoots free throws now...from her left. So funny. It is fun to see her challenged and handling the adversity of it all.
