Henry had a golf tournament at Eagle Creek in Oregon and I took the kids and my parents met us there. Mark stayed with his dad. Central Oregon is magical. I will admit, I spent the morning before we left with Gordon and knew it was likely my last time seeing him. Getting to then immerse myself in nature was what I needed......and a three hour car ride to cry was also helpful. Being a golf mom is TOUGH. So much rides on the kid shoulders, I am so proud of the grace and character Henry shows. I found out that Gordon died as Henry hit his first shot and I am convinced that is when he wanted to go, when Henry was swinging a golf club.
